I will dominate 'serious combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua
Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-round contest which will be shown live on the streaming platform.
British boxer Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the two fighters confronted each other to build hype for the upcoming boxing match.
Former two time unified title holder Anthony Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami arena on 19 December.
Boxer's Mindset
"I will injure his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, declared.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I'm going to genuinely try to injure him. That's what I want to do."
Civil Exchange
Despite such comments, a calm Joshua and internet personality Paul - normally recognized for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.
Jake Paul instead attacked former Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and called him "not serious" after the Cameroonian rejected a match opportunity.
Targeting Fury
Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at UK rival Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul win.
"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua stated.
"I acknowledge that."
Serious Opponent
In spite of saying he intends to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to talk badly about his rival's boxing ability.
"Jake is a credible opponent," he stated.
Paul's History
Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mainly fought mixed martial artists or faded names since entering professional boxing.
He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.
Financial Attraction
Still, the relative newcomer remains one of boxing's greatest financial successes, regularly earning huge financial rewards.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in round four or five and claimed he would prevent the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly being planned for two years from now.
"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul declared.
Physical Difference
As both boxers participated in the usual stare-down, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it emphasized just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is really happening.
